Steel Beam Cross at Ground Zero, NYC

There's been a lot of talk and anger about the proposed building of a mosque 2 blocks from Ground Zero in NY. Actually, it's NOT 2 blocks from Ground Zero because the building was actually hit by falling landing gear from one of the jets that slammed into the Twin Towers on 9/11 so that actually makes it part of Ground Zero.

But is it right or wrong?

• Should they be allowed to build it there?
• Should this particular Imam be allowed to build a mosque anywhere?
• We, the USA, YOUR TAX $$, are sending this Imam on official business around the Middle East representing the US... Is this right?
• We, the USA, YOUR TAX $$, are paying to help rebuild historic mosques around the world... is this right?
• Why does President Obama, who claims to be Christian, go to great lengths to apologize for the US to Muslims, to do any and everything for Muslims, and pronounce and use Islamic terms as a Muslim would/does.

Lots of questions...

So what's the big deal about this anyway? Some reports say they don't have the money yet to build the $100 million building. I wonder if that's why the State Department is sending Imam Rauf on a tour of the Middle East? This administration seems bent on doing any and everything to appease Muslims while shunning anything Christian. I'm pretty sure the money is not an issue... there's plenty of money in the Middle East that is controlled by people would love to irritate the "infidels".

So with money out of the way, what's the big deal? Most people say that religious freedom dictates that they have the right to build the Mosque anywhere they want to... however, because the Twin Towers were destroyed and 3000 people were killed by Muslims, they, the Muslims, should show some respect and build it elsewhere.

Some people, namely the Mayor of N.Y. City say that Muslims didn't attack the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and crash the other jet in PA, but rather Al-Qaida was at the controls... I think Mayor Bloomberg is an idiot. The terrorists were Muslims who were members of Al-Qaida.

Imam Rauf has made a lot of statements against the U.S. in the past. More and more facts about him are being uncovered or discovered everyday. I don't think its right for him to represent the U.S.A. in any capacity for anything. I'm furious that he's being paid by our State Department to tour the Middle East.

According to one of our local talk show hosts, we should not have any issues with "peaceful" Muslims, the ones that ignore the part of the Koran that says to kill the infidels (that's any non Muslim). I completely DISAGREE. That's like saying the only good Muslims are the bad Muslims... here in the South, we'd call them "backsliding Muslims"... like a "backsliding Baptist" who drinks too much! I'm sorry, but that's a load of crap.

The problem with Islam is that as the so called "peaceful" Muslims increase in population they will eventually have enough votes to elect Muslims and change laws. Islam is not just a religion; it's a set of laws for governing the population. A set of laws that is in direct opposition to the freedom and independence of the United States of America. Once this change starts, the "peaceful" Muslims will do what they're told by their Imam's and will not vote against stronger, more traditional Muslims. Eventually we will end up with Sharia Law - Islamic Law. Look at what's happened in Europe and England and tell me I'm wrong. With Islam, there is no separation of church and state; it's one and the same.

Like our local talk show co-host, you may say this will not happen because we have the Constitution. Wrong. Have you seen what has happened since Obama was elected? We've had huge bills that fundamentally changed this country rammed and crammed into law against the will of the majority of the people. Don't tell me with enough Muslims we would not end up with a radically different America than we have now.

What about the fact that we're spending tax payer dollars to rebuild historic Mosques around the world? This is also a malfeasance of public trust and funds. It's an outrage when our economy is being driven into the ground by this Administration, that we're doing this... when we can't even get the one church that was destroyed next to the Twin Towers rebuilt.

Christians are being constantly beat down by government at all levels. We can't have a nativity scene here, we can't have a cross in the freakin' desert, we can't have a public prayer before a High School football game... and most Christians just take it... Christians have a responsibility to God and to each other and when we "just take it" we're not doing either. I think a lot of Christians who voted for Obama need to realize that they did not vote for a person who demonstrates that he follows the teaching of the Bible. Pro-abortion, Pro-gay, Pro-entitlement, Pro-big government are ALL things Christians should have problems supporting and should vote against.

I don't think Christianity and Islam are compatible. I think that a lot of Christians today are wimps and view religion and church with a "candy store" mentality where they show up, wave their arms, sing a few songs and think everything is taken care of and will be OK. Meanwhile the country that we all love and have fought to create is being eaten from within like terminates eating the foundation out from under a grand old house.

President Obama seems to go out of his way to please the Islamic community and do very little to show any Christianity. He was a member of Jeremiah Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ for at least 20 years. Jeremiah Wright preached a message of hate, of hate for white people and the United States. Jeremiah Wright's message is not a message from Christ. It's unfortunate that his talents are not used to preach the Gospel and the love that IS Christ, instead of a message of self-serving and evil purposes.

What does President Obama believe? Is he a Christian or a stealth Muslim? I don't know. Like a lot of issues, he seems to say one thing, and then do another, then say something else, then do yet something else. It's unclear. If you try to be all things to all people you end up being nothing.

President Obama is Theologically Androgynous and he shouldn't be. As President we should know what he believes and where he stands on issues both personal and public.

Here are my thoughts:

• The Mosque should not be built at Ground Zero.
• Imam Rauf should not be on the State Department's payroll and should not represent this country.
• Imam Rauf's background and funding for the Mosque should be investigated.
• The Christian community needs to educate itself about Islam.
• The Christian community needs to stand up and stop being subjugated and learn how to peacefully and consistently take political action.
• Christians need to put a lot of thought and prayer into who they vote for.

Degenerating nations (like America) will never change or improve via politics, you can't legislate morality, which is probably why Jesus didn't do much to address it. People and communities only change when hearts are changed by the transforming power of the Gospel. When hearts change, lives change, and nations change. Jesus is about changing hearts and lives, the rest will take care of itself if those two things occur.

The world needs a PRINCIPLED and STRONG United States of America. Principled does not necessarily mean always friendly and never ruffling any feathers. It means a country united by common morals, ethics, and values. It means a country with the fortitude to draw a line in the sand, as well as the heart to lift the fallen out of harm's way when disaster strikes.

Other nations and peoples may not always "like" the principled and strong, but they want the security that having them around creates. This does not mean they hate us - nor should we be overly concerned if they do.

Principled and strong: qualities we're losing as a nation and have lost in most of our elected leaders. Corrupt and self-serving is now the norm for our government. We have leaders who go against the will of the people and then call for investigations into those who oppose them or their policies... Dishonest leaders who say one thing while doing another... Corrupt leaders who line their pockets and their political allies pockets while treating their constitutes like subjects.

It's time for us, the citizens of this country to draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough.

Stop Elena Kagan's Nomination to the Supreme Court.

Back during the election I stated that one of worst aspects of an Obama Presidency would be his appointments to the Supreme Court. It's a lifetime appointment. A Judge that Obama selects is like having Obama on the Supreme Court for 30 or 40 years - most of us can't wait until he's gone and don't want anyone HE selects having that kind of power for that many years.

Kagan is exactly what the United States does NOT need on the Supreme Court. I do not like her lack of experience as a Judge. I do not like the fact that she used her position at Harvard to enforce HER beliefs on the military by blocking military recruiters from campus. I do not like her track record on abortion. I just plain don't like her lack of qualifications or her actions in the positions she's held.

Elena Kagan's nomination is still in the Judicial Committee. They will vote on her nomination soon, possibly tomorrow July 20th. If the Judiciary Committee vote passes, then the vote on her nomination will then move to the entire Senate.

Lindsey Graham said during comments prior to the vote that the Constitution says "elections have consequences" and that he believes presidents are entitled to have their judicial picks confirmed whether he likes them or not.

Lindsey - you're an idiot.

Leadership Starts at the Top - So Does Corruption.

President Obama is blaming the GOP for the Economic Woes of the Country (while he goes on yet another vacation)? Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Barney Frank, and Frank Dodd done everything possible to DESTROY the Economy (and the country) and he blames the GOP? If he wasn't doing EXACTLY what he set out to do, what he SAID he would do, it would be a JOKE, but the jokes on us.

Despicable does not even come close to describing the evil this administration is doing. Manufactured crises and racial division... if you think these things are accidents or coincidences then you need to wake up and realize that you're only seeing the tip of the iceberg.

How does an administration shut down the fossil fuel industry? Yes, I know we've proven global warming is a hoax, but its purpose was the same - shut down the fossil fuel industry. They create crises in the coal and oil industries and issue stifling regulations and bans.

How does an increasingly unpopular President, who happens to be black, ensure that he gets as much of the black vote as possible in the next election? Divide the county on race and hope that anger will make black voters vote for him. It saddens me to see this happening. Sure there are still race issues, there always will be because there will always be a small number of people filled with hate. If black people are concerned about the claims of the Tea Party being racist then I encourage them to attend Tea Party functions and see for themselves. I also would like to know how the NAACP can vote on and pass a statement condemning the Tea Party for being racists when they do nothing about the Black Panther raging lunatics telling people to kill white cracker babies and standing outside polling places with Billy sticks.

I hope that Americans who happen to be black will stand up and say enough is enough. We don't need a black President, we don't need a white President, we don't need a red, green, or blue President. We need a GOOD President, one who will follow the Constitution and LOVE this Country instead of DESTROY it.

Leadership starts at the top - so does corruption. It's obvious that the Democrats and a few Republican members of Congress are not listening to their constituents. We MUST vote them out in November. We MUST get people involved. We MUST make sure people understand the issues and vote these Traitors and Criminals out of office.

I can prove socialism sucks for just 25 cents...

Anyone who still doubts that Obama and the Democratic party is leading us down the path to socialism is like the Pinball Wizard in that old song by The Who - "Deaf, Dumb, and Blind"!

I guess in a perfect world socialism would work. Everyone would produce to the best of their abilities whatever it is that they're best at doing and share with everyone else. But, this is FAR from a perfect world. Besides, perfect utopia is NOT what Obama and the Democratic Party is interested in, they're interested in staying in power. And to maintain that grip on power, they want as many people as possible dependent on the Government, and the bigger the Government the better. Socialism is the way to achieve that dependent voting base.

Conservatives want the opposite: they want smaller and smaller Government and fewer and fewer people dependent on Government handouts and programs. They know that here in the real world, if you teach a man to fish he can feed himself and his family... however... if you just give him a fish, he'll eat that fish and want another one... and another one... and another one... and another one... until he's lost the desire, ability, and reasoning to catch a fish if he had to.

Proof of this is all around us if we open our eyes.

Socialism is like the way most grocery stores and big box home stores handle their shopping carts. You buy something and wheel it out to the parking lot in a shopping cart, or buggy, as we call them here in God's country, the south. In a perfect "socialist" world, we'd all return our shopping carts back to the line of waiting carts in the store or at the entrance to the store. But do we? Heck no, we just leave them everywhere. So most stores have blocked-off areas in their parking lots designated to hold shopping carts... making it easier for customers to "centralize" returning their carts vs. just leaving them everywhere. Does it work? No. It works better than nothing, but a lot of people still do not return the cart unless they're parked close to one of the little return areas - they still leave them everywhere.

One store in our area has solved this problem. They don't have collection areas in their parking lot at all. Everyone returns their cart to the entrance of the store. Why? Because to get a cart, you have to insert a quarter into a small device on the handle of the cart and then you can remove the cart from the cart holder. You only get your quarter back if you return the cart to the cart holder: once it's in place you can remove your quarter. Simple and effective!

Here we have a perfect example of why socialism will never work and why capitalism always will. Socialism will never achieve the level of economic success and quality of life that capitalism can, and does. All proven by a simple shopping cart... and 25 cents! Returning a shopping cart is a simple, easy task to perform. It only takes a few minutes and minimal energy. What about a lifetime of work? If people can't even manage to do the "right thing for the better good" with a shopping cart, a lifetime of work in a socialist system will surely be subpar.

In socialism, everything becomes a race to the bottom vs. a race to the top. Socialism ignores the fact that man (as an animal) is at his best when there's some competition involved. Socialism ignores man's inherent sinfulness and laziness. Some of the most vocal socialist are also some of the same people trying to remove the competitiveness from youth sports. They're trying to make it all even and fair. Life's not even and fair. Competitive sport is a great way to grow, mold, and develop a young person towards a life time of achievement. The lessons learned in practice and on the field are invaluable in life. Transforming youth sport into an exercise of not keeping score and making everyone a winner will in reality make everyone a loser. It's the same with Socialism: after sufficient time everyone loses.

Obama's Foremost Priority for NASA Chief: Better Relations with Muslim World. Well, his name IS Barack Hussein Obama, so are you surprised? I'm not. I am so sick and tired of this President and his anti-American mindset. I think the number one priority for the Chief of NASA would be to do as much as possible with the little funding Obama left him with... in SPACE... not worrying about building better relationships with a religious group. Just plain stupid. After 911, how many Muslims do we want piloting a space rocket? If you think a jet airplane could do some damage, just imagine what a huge rocket could do.

Stupid People or Just Ignorant?

How can Barack Hussein Obama and his cohorts dismantle this country as they're doing? Because for years the liberal led public education system has valued political correctness over true education. They value their liberal socialist agenda over accurately teaching history. We have a nation of people who don't care because they don't know better. They're not stupid, they're ignorant - there's a vast difference. They don't know what the Constitution actually says and they don't know a thing about how this country was founded. In fact, according to a new poll, a good percentage of people, 26%, don't know which country we fought for independence (it was Great Britain if you don't know)... even worse, 6% didn't know we fought any war of independence. Sad, very sad.

With a population this dumbed down, why would we expect people to get upset when the President treats the Constitution like a cheap hooker and doles out favors for his union buddies and his radical cronies?

With a population this dumbed down, why would we expect people to get upset when Obama runs on a platform of change and of transforming this country? We have the best system ever created. A Republic that works. Sure it has problems that need to be fixed, but not drastically changed or transformed. Change and transformation to Obama is a socialist or communist country instead of the United States that we know and love. Don't believe me? Look around. Read the ObamaCare package that was passed. Read the Banking Reform Act - it's worse. Did you ever think that the Government could just take over an industry? Multiple industries? What about the President just shutting down industries he doesn't like (example: no more drilling)? It's happening and will continue to happen until we stop him.

Blacks Really Ought Not Like Democrats...

Why do so many minorities, including blacks, like the Democratic Party? Because they're not taught ACCURATE history. Uh... folks, the Democrats STARTED the KKK to stop blacks from registering as Republicans... again... just like Amnesty for all the illegal immigrants in this country, it was a vote grab maneuver to keep themselves in office and in power.

Woodrow Wilson, the 28th President, a Democrat, brought us the Federal Reserve (another huge problem), and drastically expanded segregation of blacks.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican for good reason.

Slavery was brutal and awful. 200 years ago, if you happened to be a slave, you knew it... you were chained, restrained, beaten, and scared to try to escape. Today, it's not so obvious. Today's slaves are the masses of people who are dependent on Government Entitlements and vote to keep politicians in office who promise not to cut those entitlements (Democrats). These people scream things like: you owe us... where's the Government... we just want a better life... it's not fair... don't you care about us... you better take care of us. The list can and does go on and on. Generations of this dependence has been slowly building a larger and larger base of this slave class of people (voters to keep Government big and Democrats in power). Until now... this administration cranked up the entitlements and slammed the brakes on the economy: finally creating a Permanent Underclass. A slave class with no chains... and they BEG and PLEAD to stay slaves.

Modern Day Slavery - Pulling a Rabbit Out of a Hat...

If you or I tried to enslave a group of people, like was done 200 years ago, most members of that group would fight to the death to defend themselves (as they should). However, purposely mis-educating them, or by a lack of education, this same group willing agrees to be servants... they've been enslaved just the same. It's almost like magic...

Self-Serving Champions

This underclass has self-serving champions who help keep them in chains to line their own pockets and maintain their powerful status... Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and elected officials like John R. Lewis, Maxine Waters and Sheila Jackson-Lee. These people serve themselves, not the people they claim to champion or those who elected them.

The Misguided Shackled Mindset: Obama High School

It happens on local levels too. Here in my hometown, Burlington, NC, a local woman has requested that the school board rename one of the local high schools and one of the local middle schools to Obama High School and Obama Middle School (I kid you not!): Obama High School Obama Middle School . Why in God's Name would anyone want to honor this President? He's the worst President in history and the most UN-American. That's one surefire way to get a couple of schools burned down or mass student transfer requests to other schools. Here again you have a person who refuses to see the damage this man is doing to our country and the millions of people his policies are enslaving so that his party and his unions and his radicals can stay in power.

Freedom Looks Scary to the Oppressed

The funny thing is most of the people who support Obama would be much better off under a Conservative or Libertarian President. Obama's objective is to do exactly what he's doing: get as many people depending on Government handouts as possible so that during the next election cycle Democrats can say that a vote for a Republican is a vote to end entitlements with the hope that most of these people will vote to keep their handouts coming. The Democrats have been doing this for generations with Social Security.

Turning the Economy Around is Simple

However if we had a Conservative or Libertarian President who would drastically cut taxes, cut Government spending, and Government programs, the economy would take off like a rocket, like the Space Shuttle... we'd have jobs again, and people would have money in their pockets again, people would generously give to the poor again, and The United States would be a world leader again, and our space program would have something to do with space instead of Muslim Relations, and the underclass would be able to take care of themselves.

Amnesty: Looking for More Slaves

President Obama is considering using an Executive Order to grant amnesty to all the illegal immigrants in the country. The Democrats are afraid that they don't have enough support to maintain control in the upcoming November elections. So they're looking to expand their voting base. Obama has admitted that he is not securing the border because he wants immigration reform (translation: amnesty) and that if he secured the border he would lose his bargaining power. To me that sounds like Treason. The fact that Obama has his administration fighting Arizona is ludicrous - and reinforces every point I've made here... including Treason.

What's the Most Damaging Thing Obama Can Do?

What's the most damaging thing Obama can do? Put Supreme Court Judges on the Bench that thinks like he does - it's a lifetime appointment. Let your Senators know that you expect them to vote NO on Kagan. If they're Republican and vote for her appointment, tell them that you will remember their vote when you're in the voting booth in November. Kagan is bad news, hand picked by Obama to carry his agenda to the Supreme Court, and would make Thomas Jefferson and the other Founding Fathers puke in their graves. Don't count on others doing this: YOU HAVE TO CONTACT YOUR SENATORS.

I'd Rather Loose a Friend than My Country...

If you're worried on loosing a few friends by speaking out... don't be, I used to be, but not anymore... I'd rather loose a friend or two than my country. The men who signed the Declaration of Independence had a lot more than a few friends to loose... they risked their lives, their family's lives, and their fortunes. Now we're watching the destruction of the very freedom they laid their lives on the line to create.

Unfortunately we can't trust many of our Representatives to represent us. Americans overwhelmingly oppose Obamacare. Signing on to this bill as a Co-Sponsor should be a no-brainer in this election cycle. Makes you wonder why they aren't. Many of them want to water this bill down or include other "reforms". Any actual reform can only start with repealing this monstrous bill.

Do most people realize that the people he's met with so far about the oil well spill are not oil people? If your plumbing was dumping raw sewage into your house, would you call the local university and setup a meeting with a professor, or would you call an experienced plumber? Obama met with the professors while the plumbers are standing around waiting for permission to clean up the mess and fix the problem.

I've even given up on the Republican leadership. One, just one, republican had the guts to call a spade a spade and he got slapped from both the left and the right. Rep. Joe Barton got it right and he deserves a pat on the back and a big Double Barreled Salute for saying what should have been said. When will the rest of the Republican leadership get some guts? Why don't they get it? That's what the whole Tea Party movement is about - not saying this or that because of what a poll says, but because of what the Constitution says and because of what's right.

Sure people want BP to pay for the damage they've caused, and we have legal systems in place to make sure that happens, we don't need or want the President and his administration bullying BP and making things worse. How could it get worse? Because now BP has setup a huge fund with no legal guidelines for the control or use of the money. Only President Obama's staff oversees the disbursement of the funds.

Speaking of oil... funny how things are all tied together and who benefits while everyone in the Gulf suffers. When you look at that information, it really makes you wonder if the whole thing was done on purpose or is at least being allowed to continue. Obama is giving 2 BILLION DOLLARS to Petrobras to finance oil exploration. EXCUSE me, but Soros is a big owner in Petrobras is he not... and was it not his think-tank that "suggested" Obama ban all drilling as soon as the spill occurred... and "suggested" Obama force BP to create a huge fund... and probably "suggested" this $2 billion for Petrobras... and the list goes on and on. Obama is nothing more than a puppet to Unions and Soros and we, the American people are paying the price.

Now that Obama has admitted (behind closed doors) that he's not moving on border control so that the Republicans will have to agree to immigration reform, how hard is it to believe that he's letting the oil continue to run into the Gulf while he plays golf and meets with gay activists to allow the situation to get so bad that people will never want any oil wells? Not hard at all. In fact, the longer this goes on and the more we learn, the more I believe it was either not an accident, not supposed to be this bad, or was an accident and then exploited for this administration's purposes. Either way it's criminal.

I'm sick of this administration and the constant lies and positioning for the interest of unions and the big backers like Soros and no concern with the raping of the United States that they're doing. We knew this is what Obamacare was all about, and now that people who didn't believe that are starting to learn more and more about what's in Obamacare... they're starting to see we were right.

Why unions? Why does the health care reform increase (require) union membership? Why did Obama protect union jobs/workers vs. letting foreign ships and workers help clean up the oil spill? Why have billions in bailouts gone to unions, union pension plans, etc.? Because unions tell their members how to vote. And they typically tell them to vote for democratic candidates.

Everything that Obama does is targeted and calculated for one thing and one thing only: getting future voters. It doesn't matter if it's entitlement programs keeping a class of subservient voters in virtual chains or unions. It's for one purpose. The same goes for taking over private industry... government employees will vote to keep their jobs. The same goes for trying to legalize illegal immigrants... they bank on their votes.

Obama is ignoring the interest of the United States and its citizens and is systematically transferring our economic strength and interests to foreign countries because he simply doesn't seem to believe in America. If he's not transferring it outside, it's going to his special interests, like unions.

What Obama and his administration are doing to this country is unconscionable. It should make you vomit. It should make you sick to your stomach. If it does not, you need to read the constitution.

President Obama's Oval Office Address on the BP Oil Spill... No Mr. President Now is NOT the Time to Tax Us Even More...

Government involvement always makes it worse... no matter what "it" is.

There was a letter to the editor in my local paper the other day claiming that the BP Deep Horizon disaster was due to not enough government regulation.

Government regulation is the REASON for the millions of gallons of oil ruining the beaches, killing wildlife, and ruining lives and business.

Why? Because if oil companies were allowed to drill on land, or in shallow waters, this leak, if it did occur, could be fixed quickly. It's also likely that this leak may have never occurred on land or in shallow water. The fact is it's hard to do anything a mile below the surface. It's like building a ship in a bottle and then building a ship inside a bottle in that ship...

Oil wells on Land... think how much easier it is to fix a problem when you can work on it without a mile of water over the well...

This is another case where government regulation and laws that may seem to make sense really don't.

No Mr. President, as you said in your Oval Office Address tonight, the reason BP is drilling a mile below the surface is NOT because there's no oil left close to shore or even on dry land... it's because of mindless government regulations by the liberal left. Regulations pushed through by those who don't understand the slightest thing about reality and who don't understand the damage they've done and are doing to our country.

It's not a surprise though. None of it. Not the coal industry. Not the oil industry. Obama made it clear during the election he wanted the coal industry out of business and felt pretty much the same about the oil industry.

A month or more before Deep Horizon exploded, Obama opened up some new possible oil drilling lease areas, however at the same time (not talked about so much) he removed other areas from being leased. So that action was a head fake in and of itself. I was looking for what was next... and then tragedy struck... very similar to the coal mine disasters.

Some conspiracy theorists may say that these are not coincidences, but that's doubtful. Who runs Obama? Unions. Who benefited the most from the bailouts? Unions. Who has their hands out for more bailouts? Unions. What do unions do to get their way? So maybe the conspiracy theorists have something after all...

Obama, not one to waste a disaster (either intentional or accidental), jumped all over both disasters (oil and coal) to put into motion more regulations and stop drilling.

Obama announced two weekends ago that "now is the time to aggressively embrace clean energy technologies" - translation: get ready to pay more and more for gas, oil, and coal. Tonight in his Oval Office address he switched from talking about the 11 deaths, the oil that's still gushing, the ruined beaches, the dead wildlife... to... guess what... MORE REGULATIONS and MORE TAXES TO ACCELERATE "CLEAN ENERGY".

How about this: Mr. President, help BP fix the problem, get your foot off their throat and help them. They didn't want this to happen. Maybe they caused it, maybe not, but it's costing them a fortune. Worry about stopping the leak, containing the oil, and cleaning up the mess... sort out who will pay for what later... once the wildlife is dead it's too late.

Mr. President, focus the vast resources of this country on the problem as only the President can. Accept help from other countries offering to help. Why did Obama not accept help from foreign countries offering to send their ships? Unions. We have 8 weeks of oil sloshing around because he's protecting union workers instead of the country as a whole... instead of the environment that he says he loves so much... instead of the people in the Gulf that he's sworn to protect.

Obama has just now started talk to the CEO of BP... at least I think he has, maybe not... maybe he was too busy playing golf. Now can you imagine if Sarah Palin, Senator Michele Bachmann, Governor Jan Brewer were President... that's probably one of the first phone calls they would have made and they would probably talk on a regular basis.

Our country cannot withstand anymore taxes. Everything President Obama said in his Oval Office address tonight says higher energy taxes on fossil fuels (oil, gas, coal) in order to cut usage and fund development of clean energy. Develop clean energy and use it... but lower taxes, not raise them. We're on the brink of economic disaster and raising energy prices will only drive the final nails in the coffin.

Demand more of our elected officials. Demand more of yourself. Demand NO NEW TAXES, NO CAP and TRADE, NO BAILOUTS. Take action and write, call, fax, and email your elected officials. And when November gets here... VOTE.

Ok... so let's get this straight... if I go to Mexico and enter the country illegally, I will be asked for my papers, arrested, and deported... but Mexican President Calderon comes to the United States to complain about OUR immigration laws (that we don't enforce) and to complain about Arizona's new law... and OUR President, Barack Hussein Obama just stands there agreeing with him and the STUPID DEMOCRATS in CONGRESS give him a STANDING OVATION????

My God will somebody WAKE ME UP???
What's even lamer is President Calderon blaming the violence in Mexico on OUR gun laws (the assault rifle ban being lifted in 2004)...

I think we need to show Felipe where the border is and escort him back across it.

Why does he need to address OUR Congress anyway? The whole thing is NUTS... unless... a certain President who the majority of the country can't wait to vote out of office is trying everything he can think of to secure Hispanic votes... maybe he asked President Calderon to visit... looks good if you're in the country illegally or if you're Hispanic and support the rape and pillage of the United States.

Mr. President, the majority of Americans want a country with borders, enforced borders. We want people in this country illegally deported. If they have anchor babies, then let them take them with them... there's no reason to split up a family, we'll let them all leave, it's a free country.

They Don't Come Here to Become Americans

I received the comment below to an old post Teacher Puts Mexican Flag in Trash at High School... it so completely describes the attitude, and problem, with illegal immigrants and those who support them. I responded there, but want to expand on my response here.

This one truth in her comment says it all: They don't come here to become Americans.

Being an American has NOTHING to do with RACE. Race is your heritage. People of all races are Americans. (Mexican, by the way, is not a race, white is a race, black is a race, Hispanic is a race, but Mexican is a nationality.)

If you come to this country from Mexico to become an American then you leave Mexico at the border - don't try to make this country into Mexico, if that's what you want, stay in Mexico. Otherwise, if you want to become an American, follow the rules for applying for entry into our country. If you want to come here to work and not become an American then apply for the proper documentation to do that. You can be proud of your heritage, remember your heritage, and honor your heritage, like millions of others do, without destroying this country or trying to make it into Mexico.

Don't come here illegally and make demands for the same rights and benefits as an American citizen. Illegal Immigrants DO NOT have the same rights as an American citizen... because they're criminals (yes, that's what illegal means) and they're not citizens. If I went to Mexico, which by the way has very strict border and immigration laws, and demanded the same rights as a Mexican citizen, I would be laughed at... and probably arrested.

The Issues and Problems

• One major problem is that illegal immigrants don't know the laws of this country, nor in all likelihood, of their own country. They're generally poorly educated and earn low income.
• Another major problem is that too many people in OUR OWN COUNTRY don't know our laws, our history, or the way our government is supposed to work either. It's kind of like someone professing to be a Christian yet never reading the bible or going to church and then thinking they know what Jesus said and why he said it. It's why Obama won the election and why so many people are so easily mislead by unscrupulous politicians and the media.
• As the commenter stated: most illegal immigrants do not care anything about becoming Americans, they simply want to live off of our system and have anchor babies here so that they can live off of our system too. They want to make American into Mexico, not become Americans. I realize there are those who do not fall into this category, but most do. If they truly cared about becoming Americans, they would follow the legal path.
• Yet another problem is that our elected politicians want to stay in office and unfortunately will do anything to do so. They know that if they support illegal immigration and a path to citizenship for the millions of criminals in our country it will insure a steady supply of new votes. And those politicians not actively and aggressively addressing the problem and staying neutral are, in effect, supporting illegal immigration.

People like Bill Clinton, who support a path to citizenship, say things like, once they're citizens and paying taxes, they'll pay fines and penalties for being in the county illegally and that will be good for the budget and deficit. The problem with that is that it's not true: it's just a ploy to ensure a huge new voter base. Why is it not true? Because the majority of illegal immigrants are low income and uneducated. Even if they wanted to pay the fines and penalties, most would not be able to. Most of them will be in the half of the population that does not pay any income tax and gets more from the government than they pay in. The other problem I have with that viewpoint is that it's not all about money, even if it did pay for itself, which it does not, it's not good for the country.

A pinhole in a dam that's left unplugged will eventually destroy the dam and the lake it supported. If we don't address this problem and stop it, it will eat away at this country until there's nothing left here. All our resources will be exhausted and we will have lost the ability to lead the world, to help others, and to excel.

In lifesaving classes they teach you that a drowning person is very dangerous, they will climb all over you, they will drown you, they're only hope for survival, while trying to save themselves... they teach you to take some pretty strong measures to stop the person from hurting you, so that you can save them from drowning. That's why we set legal limits on immigration. Yet our elected officials and judges are letting us drown.

The only way to help others is to remain strong. If we're strong we can help our neighbors and others around the world. Misplaced compassion, by letting the problem continue unchecked, is immoral.

We Americans DO accept immigrants, LEGAL immigrants, and we do it with open arms.
