   People like you are the reason why most of the people in this nation are so hateful. This is the land of promise, of opportunity, and of (supposedly) equality. But it's people like you that make this country so difficult to equalize. At least that kid was proud of where he came from. Do you know where your heritage lies? Are you proud of it? Because I can tell you now, even though you may have been born in America, your ancestors were not and I bet you have no idea of your heritage. The only people in this nation that deserve to called American are the Native Americans. Not people like you who are too blind to see what is really good out there.

   Yes, my ancestors immigrated to this country at some point. Since then we've fought in various wars since WWII to defend the freedom and create the country that this young man immigrated to.

   No, most of the people in this nation are not hateful; we're just tired of the constant stream of illegal immigrants that pour across the borders and then do things like this young man did, or, complain about how hateful we are. If we're so bad, then feel free to exit the building, otherwise, come here legally and become an American.

   I know and work with a lot of people who immigrated here legally - years ago, as well as just this year. They do not act this way, and if I asked them, they probably would not appreciated this young man's behavior any more than I do.

   Actions like this student took serve no positive purpose whatsoever. My stance on this is not centered to the US either, you should show respect for the county you are in period. I have no problem with legal immigration. If you immigrate to this country, you become an American: if you don't want to become an American, don't immigrate here. Don't come to this country and try to make it into another country - that makes no sense, if that is your objective, you should return to your home country and make it a better country. If you come here, you become an American and American becomes first in your heart and your allegiance. You can still be intensely proud of your heritage, as you should be, but you're an American first. You don't fly another country's flag higher than the US Flag, or on the same flag pole. You don't display another country's flag in a manner that is disrespectful to this country (or whatever country you happen to be in). I don't really think you should paint another country's flag on your tailgate or side of your vehicle, but that's my personal opinion. If you're here illegally, then I do have an issue with your presence.

   Ok, you talk about not liking "illegal immigrants" but are you sure that this kid is an illegal immigrant? if he is a legal immigrant or a citizen would that make his actions more aceptable? doesnt he have the right to freedom of speach? anyways it was "5 de mayo"!! Im sure that if he would bring an irish flag for st patrics day we wouldnt be having this conversation.
   Well Immigrants (legal or Illegal) are not going away any time soon so expect more flags....

   I agree with that last comment illegals aren't going anywhere and I am glad to see them here. Destroying someones personal property and degrating them for misunderstanding for poor english is sick and makes me sick and everyone should be proud of where they are from. I tell you one thing I am an american citizen but would never be proud and carry the flag I am embarassed to be part of this hateful and judgemental country.

   Commenter #6... thanks for leaving another comment - geez. Again, I think you make my point for me. In fact, since you think this is such a bad country and you're so ashamed of it then please find somewhere else to live that you could be proud of... also, his flag was not destroyed.

   People should be proud of where they came from, however, as I've said before, you immigrate to this county to become an American. You can become an American and still be proud of your heritage. People like the kid in this story would rather turn the United States into the country they came from and generally have no intention of becoming an American.

   I am very proud of my uncle for what he did! If anyone even knew the whole story you would know that clint is the least racists person out there! He saw the tension starting to boil and fixed it before it got out of hand! I think it was all a big misunderstanding which could have been prevented if when the immigrants come here they I dunno LEARN ENGLISH!! If i were to move to mexico I would have to speak spanish they wouldn't cater to my needs so why should we cater to there's! This whole thing is very sad! Clint feels so bad about what happened that he has quit teaching and left idaho! He is an amazing teacher and coach both the two things he has ever known and this has completely destroyed his life!! to think all because he was trying to keep the peace not stir the shit!
