Tell Your Congressman to Co-sponsor New King Bill
ALERT: A recent Washington Times national poll showed 77 percent of Americans believe illegal aliens shouldn't be allowed to have driver's licenses.
Even Democrat pollsters Stan Greenberg and James Carville found that two-thirds of surveyed voters oppose them -- and the "safety" argument doesn't even put a dent in the widespread conviction that granting a driver's license rewards illegal behavior.
We're not surprised about that. Illegal immigration is a major concern in America -- one that the political "leaders" in Washington, D.C., refuse to deal with. And where do the two leading Democrat contenders for President stand on this issue?
Both of them want driver's licenses to illegal aliens!
WE MUST STOP THIS INSANITY!
Thankfully, several Congressmen are stepping up and doing something about this. Rep. Pete King (R-NY) has introduced H.R. 4176, to "enhance national security by restricting access of illegal aliens to driver's licenses and State-issued identification documents" -- in other words, to prohibit states from issuing valid driver's licenses to those in the United States illegally.
Finally, some common sense! Now, we have to make sure there are enough Democrats to side with a strong Republican minority in support of this legislation -- but the only way we can do that is by overwhelming our Congressmen and Senators with messages DEMANDING they vote FOR Rep. King's bill, and AGAINST giving driver's licenses to illegal aliens.
And we've got a GREAT way to do that!
Thankfully -- and not a moment too soon -- the bill brought forth by Rep. King introduces a much-needed measure of common sense to the current debate, and he already has 168 co-sponsors. As House Republican Whip Roy Blunt (R-MO) said earlier this week, "These lawmakers understand, as do the vast majority of Americans, that allowing illegal aliens to sign up for valid, legal ID is bad transportation policy, worse immigration policy, and an unconscionable national security policy... the American people knew it the minute it was offered -- and have since joined the rest of us in looking on in sheer bewilderment."
Both Obama and Clinton are doing everything they can to appease the pro-AMNESTY groups.
