Tell Congress to Restore $3 billion dollars to the Department of Homeland Security budget and build the fence demanded by the American people, RIGHT NOW!
"Where's de-fence?"
That's the question, following a December back door, double-cross by Congress that, in essence, gutted the much-ballyhooed "Secure Fence Act of 2006."
"Where's da money?"
Congress has stripped $3 billion from the Department of Homeland Security...the cash needed to build "de-fence."
"What's de-fence?"
"De-fence" in question was to have been two strands of wire spanning 854 miles across our southern border, protecting our land and border patrol agents from bands of marauding drug-runners, potential terrorists, and weapons of mass destruction, not to mention the millions of garden-variety, undocumented "guest workers."
Some among us asked the question in 2007...
"Where's de-fence?"
By August 10th of last year, Republican Congressman Duncan Hunter of California (R ) was reporting only 17.9 miles of the project had been erected. Even then, many began to predict the fence would never be completed.
Could it be politics as usual?
Passed just weeks before the Congressional election of 2006, was the Fence Act merely a political ploy to salvage votes for the GOP? Was it an attempt to mute thousands of angry Americans, opposed to the highly unpopular White House "guest worker" program?
The figures are shocking:
17 documented, illegal border crossings into America by armed Mexican soldiers in 2006
29 documented, illegal border incursions of all kinds by Mexican forces in 2006
253 documented, illegal border crossings by Mexican soldiers and policemen to assist drug and weapons traffickers in the past decade
1000 attacks against US Border Patrol agents in 2007
"Where's da nukes?"
Who knows what dangerous materials may have crossed our borders in the absence of a secure southern border?
"What's da answer?"
