2008 Election

Palin's Pathetic Pundits

Sarah Palin in Elon, NC I don't buy all the gossip that's spewing forth about Governor Sarah Palin. I think it's unprofessional, tacky and outrageous on the part of the former McCain campaign staffers. Of course they're all "anonymous" reports. The McCain campaign did not run a good campaign and it's deplorable that they've turned to attacking Palin. Even if she was a diva or spent too much money on dresses: who cares. Even if she threw a tantrum or two and yelled at these same staffers: who cares, it sounds like they deserved it if they acted then like they're acting now. She put a five-stage rocket under the Republican Party and all they could manage to do...

The Morning After: President Obama

I'm definitely disappointed with the election. But, we have a great country in that we can have elections and choose our leaders without bloodshed. I hope that Barack Obama will be a good President and not repeat the mistakes of Democratic Presidents of the past. I hope that not one single Supreme Court Justice dies or retires for four years. I hope that the remaining Republicans can contain the damage that Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, etc. will do now that they have a Democratic President. I hope that Barack Obama will try to contain some of the "reverse racism" that's rampant in this country. I hope that Barack Obama will inspire young people of all colors to...

Obama's Cousin, Raila Odinga Echos of Fidel Castro Part II

Barack Obama and his Cousin, Raila Odinga My previous post, Lessons from Cuba: Obama Echoes Castro featured a letter written by a Cuban-American who left Cuba almost 50 years ago and he detailed how Obama reminds him of Castro. You may think he's pushing the envelope a little... but... I just read something that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. A Little Background Information About Raila Odinga. Raila Odinga is the Islamic Prime Minister of Kenya who lost the December, 2007 Kenyan Presidential election. Barack Obama visited Kenya in August 2006 to campaign for him. Obama spent six days there, for six days he was inseparable from Odinga. Odinga lost the election. Extreme violence broke...

Lessons from Cuba: Obama Echoes Castro

Fidel Castro, Nikita Khrushchev (leader of The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1962). This is a letter to the Editor that ran in the October 26, 2008 Gainesville Times from Gainesville, GA. It was written by the former boss of a family member of a friend and reader of this blog, so I can vouch for the authenticity of the person writing the letter. I am a Cuban-American who left his homeland 49 years ago and is grateful to this great country for all the opportunities provided to my family and me. I also am proud to be an American citizen. As Election Day draws nearer, and I continue to read and hear about economic fallouts, bailouts and that...

A Vote for Obama is a Vote for Absolute and Utter Incompetence...

A Vote for Obama is a Vote for Absolute and Utter Incompetence... No matter if you like Barack Obama or not, no matter if you think he would be a good President or not, everyone needs to realize that a vote for Barack Obama is a vote for the leaders of the Democratic majority: incompetents like Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and Nancy Pelosi. Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Chris Dodd - Bad News... Barack Obama does not have a history in the United States Senate; he simply has not served long enough. However, if he is elected President, he will join the aforementioned Democrats in leading this country: this should scare any sane citizen. I was going to focus this article...

Joe the Terrorist Tilting the Election?

Joe the Terrorist Tilting the Election? Why the financial crisis, tax issues, and socialism are NOT the most important issues in this election. Why we're all making a huge mistake by thinking they are... Remember how John McCain was leading the polls before the big banking crisis? Funny how a little crisis can change things. Did you know Fox News broke a story recently about the World Bank Group's network security and/or servers being breached for months, maybe even close to a year? Something the World Bank denies and plays down. Did you know there were reports the halt of short-selling of financial stocks by The Securities and Exchange Commission was due to information terrorists were planning to take massive...

Obama Not Eligible to be President?

Obama Not Eligible to be President? There's been a story simmering for some time on the Internet, that Barack Obama is not eligible to be President of the United States because he was not born in the United States, and is possibly NOT even a LEGAL CITIZEN. When I first heard about this, I quickly dismissed it as another Internet rumor. It's not. When I saw Obama head to Hawaii a few days after one of the people investigating this story landed in Hawaii, I took it as a signal that this is true. One of the three requirements to be President is that you are a natural born citizen of the United States. This means that you are born...

One Vote Matters

One Vote Matters... Think your vote does not matter? Frustrated by the Electoral College for the Presidential Election? Or, do you fall in the camp that plans on not voting? Keep reading, because one vote, your vote, does indeed matter. One Vote Matters. It's very troubling that voter registration fraud and voter fraud is so rampant. We know it is, so we need to encourage everyone to vote in this upcoming election. The higher the number of honest people who vote, the less chance the dishonest, fraudulent scum will have of affecting the outcome of the election. Here are a few examples of when one vote really counted... In 1776, one vote gave America the English language instead of...

The Scars to Prove it...

John McCain in Hanoi, North Vietnam: prisoner of war. People are clueless. People who are NOT clueless forget that fact. When Governor Palin stands up at a campaign stop and says that "there's only one man in this campaign who has actually fought for this country and that man is John McCain, and he has the scars to prove it", she needs to talk about what that statement means. Those of us who know assume that everyone else knows, but they don't. I even heard a commentator on a TV news program talk about McCain's age and his shuffling around during the second debate. She was clueless that this was not due to age but his torture and injuries...

Barney Frank Says Ignore Deficit and Tax, Tax, Tax.

The above video clip is dated October 21, 2008 from CNBC... listen closely to what he says... here's the direct link if the video does not correctly show above: Barney Frank Video. Warning Shot... Barney Frank Says Ignore Deficit and Tax, Tax, Tax. He'll be one of Obama's right-hand men too. This is scary and foreboding of things to come. Taken together with Obama's "share the wealth" comment, it should be taken as a warning shot over the bow of free enterprise. How stupid is Barney Frank? Off the scale. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the stupidest, he's a 49 or 50 on a good day, on a bad day he approaches infinity. History...

I Would Rather be Racist than Stupid

Black and White. Photo by Lee Hinshaw Let me start off by saying I'm not racist. However, according to the current political standards, I must be. From the start of this Presidential campaign, I've complained that you can't say anything negative or question anything about Barack Obama without someone saying you're racist. For this simple reason alone, Barack Obama has been able to run an unfair campaign. I am not alone in this quandary. I was recently listening to a stand-up comic talking about the current state of political correctness. He said that he constantly sees white people afraid to laugh at jokes he tells about black people, until the white people see that black people in the audience are...

Sarah Palin Rally at Elon University, NC

Sarah Palin Rally at Elon University, NC 10-16-2008 I went to the Sarah Palin rally this afternoon in Elon, NC, my almer mata. Man it was HOT. The event was located on the baseball field with the stage setup on home plate. I was in the crowd on the infield with the sun to our backs. It was packed. We were standing like sardines with the sun blazing down on us. But it was worth it. A local bluegrass band played for a pretty long time as people arrived, they were really good, the Wells Family Band. Then several local and state political figures spoke. Finally Hank Williams Jr. played several songs before Sarah Palin came on stage and then...

Where is Abortion in this Election?

Lucky to be Alive? Where is the topic of abortion in this election? Why is that topic not being discussed more in this election? I agree that the economy is important, but it has dwarfed the normal issues that are raised during an election. I've heard abortion alluded to by Sarah Palin, but I think that's about it. It needs to be a part of the discussion. When I was younger, I used to wonder why abortion was such a volatile issue in politics - this was before I had children and before I'd really given much thought to it. Now I understand. How anyone can watch an unborn child move during an ultrasound or other imaging devices and still...

Communism 101

Communism 101 It's not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success too, my attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody... I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody. - Barack Obama These are the words of Senator Barack Obama to a plumber at an event this past weekend. His conversation was caught on camera... makes me wonder if he was aware of the camera because this does NOT say tax cut to me! Remember, that Obama does not have to actually raise taxes to effectively...

Mud Slinging, Country Splitting Election

Republicans are getting frustrated with the progress of the John McCain campaign and are voicing that frustration in appropriate and inappropriate ways at campaign rallies. I applaud Senator McCain for trying to reel in the extremism and keep the pot from boiling over. Senator Obama seems to be made of titanium and Teflon and possesses almost hypnotic orator abilities. Republicans, including yours truly, get more and more frustrated as our own ranks, as well as Democrats and independents, no longer care about the facts and are just making a choice based on rhetoric. It's hard not be angry and yell out, but as Senator McCain has stated at recent rallies, it needs to be respectful. We are one country...

Obama Muslim Outreach Coordinator Meets With Islamic Extremists Groups

Here's a shocker folks (no, not really). The actually shocker is how many people don't care. Below is a news story posted on Fox News on October 10, 2008. Now, combine things like this with the reports surfacing about the hacking of the World Bank's computer systems. Hacking that's been going on for 6 months to a year. It may take some time to find out who exactly was behind the hacking, if ever, and what the information obtained was used for. But it makes me wonder. I was listening to the reporter who wrote the story on Fox News today and he also stated that it was possible that the U.S. Government stopped short selling on financial stocks...

Disgusted with Sanitized Debates

John McCain: Debate with Barack Obama on 10/7/2008 I was really hoping for a game changing debate last night (10/7/2008) between John McCain and Barack Obama. However I came away from the debate with a nauseated feeling. Why? Because the questions were pathetic, and the moderator, Tom Brokaw was wimpy. The whole point of a political debate in general and a "town hall" meeting in particular is to get face to face with the candidates and get their opinions and a feel for their character. This requires asking questions that get them off of their memorized stump speech repertoire and into actual thinking and speaking. This did not happen last night. You can't tell me that out of all the...

Open Letter to John McCain

I usually post under the name Recoil. However tonight, I'm coming out of the closet so to speak. I'm removing the mask. This election is very important, possibly the most important election any of us has voted in, or will vote in, during our lifetimes. Because of this, I'm writing an open letter to Senator McCain and I'm signing it with my real name. We're getting down to the wire in this election, and to win it, people who do not normally take action of a political nature are going to have to fight for this country. My hope is that everyone reading this letter will pass it on to their family and friends and that they, will in...

The Audacity of Dope

Why do I keep writing articles about Obama and the sheer, absolute ludicrous idea of him being President? Do I think it will change someone's mind who is an Obama supporter and have them vote for McCain? Probably not. The first step to recovery is to admit that you have a problem and Obama supporters have been totally blinded to the truth. I keep posting because my hope is to rally people who will vote for McCain to actually vote instead of thinking it's hopeless. We must get everyone to vote. Plunge the Needle Deep... Like drug addicts being fed some psychotic drug by the mass media machine, Obama followers are blind to their own ravaged consciousness. As each...

What Caused the Current Financial Crisis (Part 2)

Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd Here's an excerpt from a really through article by Clayton Makepeace that goes much more in depth than my previous article on What Caused the Current Financial Crisis. Clayton explains why this crisis so terrifying, and why we need to do everything we possibly can to stop Barack Obama from being the next President of the United States of America. Barack Obama Joe Biden Please read Clayton's article. It's long, but a very eye-opening piece of information. By the way, Clayton is NOT a Republican or a Democrat. Family with Down Syndrome Child Meets John McCain and Sarah Palin at a rally in Washington, Pennsylvania Family with Down Syndrome Child Meets John McCain and Sarah Palin at a rally in Washington, Pennsylvania You probably didn't see this on CNN or NBC, maybe not even Fox. I received this in an email that's going around about John McCain and Sarah Palin having an impromptu meeting with a family that came to a rally on September 9th. Turns out its true. Basically, a family with a five year old child with Down syndrome attended a rally in Washington, Pennsylvania and carried a sign saying "We Love Kids with Down Syndrome". As the McCain bus drove past them on the way in,...

Obama Should Be Ashamed to Run His New Ad

John McCain has put his entire focus on the meetings in Washington D.C. dealing with the current financial crisis. He is performing his duties as a United States Senator and has suspended his campaign, his ads, and fundraising. Barack Hussein Obama, who is also a United States Senator continues to campaign and run new ads... like this one... "For eight years we've been told that the way to a stronger economy was to give huge tax breaks to corporations and the wealthiest. Cut oversight on Wall Street. And somehow all Americans would benefit, Well now we know the truth. Instead of prosperity tricking down, the pain has trickled up. We need to change direction. Now." OK, can anyone in...

What Caused the Financial Melt Down and What Part Did Obama and McCain Play?

This whole financial crisis really chafes my biscuit. So what caused the problem? What exactly IS the problem anyway? What roles did Obama, McCain, and Hillary play in creating the mess find ourselves in today? Keep reading to find out... The very, very short answer to what caused this problem is GREED. There are a lot of highly educated, supposedly intelligent people who have done nothing but line their own pockets while putting the economy of the United States in the toilet. Several come to mind, like Bill Clinton's friend, the disgraced chief of Fannie Mae, Franklin Raines, who I read lined his pockets with more than $100 million while heading Fannie Mae. The Clinton administration wanted to make...

Palin Uninvited After Hillary Disses Protest

Is it just me or does something about this just smell bad, really bad? Vice Presidential Candidate Governor Sarah Palin was invited, and agreed, to speak at a protest really in New York on September 22. The purpose of the rally is to protest Iranian President Mahmound Ahmadinejad and his nuclear programs and terrorism. Pretty important stuff right? The protest organizers had also asked Hillary Clinton to speak, an invitation which she accepted. It seems that after Hillary learned that Sarah Palin was also going to speak, Mrs. Clinton backed out. Now I don't know if the decision to cancel came from Hillary herself, or from the Obama machine. A day later, the protest organizers have rescinded Palin's invitation...

Joe Biden says Paying More Taxes is Patriotic

Honest, it's only a little tax hike, no really, it's just this big... Agreeing that wealthier Americans would pay more taxes under an Obama administration, Biden said: "It's time to be patriotic ... time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut." Over and over history has shown that raising taxes does not help the economy. Lowering taxes helps the economy because it puts more money in the hands of those who will spend it. Yes, that includes the upper income brackets that the Democrats really start salivating over like a pack of wolves watching an injured calf. Raising taxes takes money out of the economy. It reduces the...

Slow Joe - Vote for Obama: he's Black

Ok, so the title of this article is not a direct quote from Joe Biden. However, Slow Joe spoke in Charlotte, NC on Sunday, 9-14-2008. He did say that electing a black person to the White House would be a transformative event in American politics and internationally. Biden put particular emphases on what it would mean to elect someone who is black. Black or White should not matter and should not be a reason for voting for someone, much less a platform to run on. What does it say about a candidate when the campaign message is "Vote for Me Because I'm Black"? Is that all they have left? There's also a big hole in that plea. Obama is...

John McCain "Fight with Me!" - Double Barreled Salute!

John McCain addressed the Republican National Convention tonight (9/4/2008) and gave the best speech I've heard him deliver. A few of my favorite quotes: "I'm not running for president because I think I'm blessed with such personal greatness that history has anointed me to save our country in its hour of need. My country saved me. My country saved me, and I cannot forget it. And I will fight for her for as long as I draw breath, so help me God." "The constant partisan rancor that stops us from solving these problems isn't a cause, it's a symptom. It's what happens when people go to Washington to work for themselves and not you." "Senator Obama wants our schools...

Sarah Palin - Double Barreled Salute!

A big Double Barreled Salute to Vice President Nominee Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin for her AWESOME speech last night (9/3/2008) at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. John McCain obviously made a great choice in selecting a running mate. If this is an example of his decision making process and ability then he's the man for the job of President of the United States and she's the woman to back him up as Vice President! My favorite quotes from her speech: "In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change." Talking about small town America: "They love their country,...

This Election is Not Black and White

I see a lot of black people driving cars with Obama bumper stickers. Don't get me wrong, I see non-black people with them too. However, I see a lot of black people with Obama bumper stickers; more than I think had presidential candidate bumper stickers in the last few elections. I realize that is a very unscientific calculation, but it's my gut feeling. It makes me wonder how many people plan on voting for Obama and are supporting Obama for the sole reason that he's black. Wait a minute... there's a problem with that... he's only half-black. Ok. I guess that's close enough, especially since he does not seem to like his white half very much. I'm very concerned...

Obama Will Raise Taxes - McCain Says DRILL!

Barack Hussein Obama is on the campaign trail now that he's the Democratic Party presidential nominee. He's preaching among other things: raising taxes on upper income Americans. Read My Lips Barack Hussein Obama: No More Taxes. He's supposed to be a smart person, but it doesn't take a genius to understand that raising taxes is like putting water on a fire... it puts it out the economy. I compare it to a redneck in the grocery store with a crying toddler threatening the toddler with a spanking if they don't stop crying. "I'm gonna beat you if you don't stop crying"... WAAAAAAA. It just does not get the desired effect. When will they wise up? Want to get the...
