Open Letter to John McCain

Open Letter to John McCain
I usually post under the name Recoil. However tonight, I'm coming out of the closet so to speak. I'm removing the mask. This election is very important, possibly the most important election any of us has voted in, or will vote in, during our lifetimes. Because of this, I'm writing an open letter to Senator McCain and I'm signing it with my real name.

We're getting down to the wire in this election, and to win it, people who do not normally take action of a political nature are going to have to fight for this country. My hope is that everyone reading this letter will pass it on to their family and friends and that they, will in turn, do the same. Why do I want this and how will it help? Because I want as many people as possible to read this letter and pray the prayer at the end. I would love to have 100,000, 500,000, or even 1,000,000 people or more praying for John McCain as he and Sarah Palin head into the homestretch of this election.

Dear Senator McCain;
Some people say that Obama is evil. I suppose it could be true, but I don't know about that. But I do know I don't trust him. Some have called him an empty suit and I certainly agree with that. He's a perfect example of what's wrong with this country. He'll say whatever is required to get what he wants. He'll promise anything to any segment or group to get their vote. And as Governor Palin stated in her debate with Joe Biden, as Commander in Chief, Barack Obama would be extremely dangerous.

So why is Obama doing so well in this election? Barack Obama is a marketing success. Like a new product being released to the market and promoted by the very best copywriters and advertising executives, his every move, thought, and word has been analyzed, modified, and tweaked to extract the highest possible response from the public. Except in this case, he's all message and no product or substance.

Barack Obama has you and your campaign on the ropes, outgunned and out manned. Unless you... no, make that all of us... take some drastic and inspired action you will loose this election. I do not want to see that happen. We cannot let that happen.

Your captivity as a prisoner of war has been talked about a lot in this election. You've said that those were your darkest days. You've said that's where your life changed. You've said your faith in God saw you through those hardest times. I think that this is the key to winning this election. No, I don't mean talking about your POW experiences; I mean your faith in God. When you were in that prison cell and being beaten and tortured over and over, you didn't have a team of advisors and handlers to help you through it. It was you, a few good men, and God. You prayed, and you found strength, and you survived.

We need that John McCain, we need those instincts: not what an advisor or handler says or tells you that you need to do. We need that John McCain, who got up over and over again, and who took beating after beating, yet who in the end found the strength to smile and encourage his fellow heroes. We need that John McCain to take the stage at the next and final two debates.

You've been taking a beating and it's time to turn the fight around and take charge. No more Mr. Nice guy or Mr. Sanitized guy. No more worrying about upsetting this group or that group. When you take the stage at the next two debates, you're fighting for this country, just as you were in Vietnam. Just as my grandfather did in WWII and just as our military men and women are around the world today. If Barack Obama becomes the next President of the United States, I'm afraid the blood of our ancestors and of our countrymen will have been shed in vain. We cannot let that happen. We must all pray that it does not happen.

I'm sure you've hammered out your strategies with your advisers and handlers. I'm sure they're smart people, but you're missing something. My hope is that you'll listen to what they have to say, while remembering that they're only men and women. After you've listened to them, ask God to give you the wisdom you need to win this election and to make the best choices for this country. Then follow your heart, God will put the answers there. I pray that Governor Palin will do the same. Anytime either of you talks to a voter, shakes a hand, gives an interview, takes questions from a reporter, or appears on camera, your words and actions must come from your heart, from the wisdom God put there, not from some calculated strategy cooked up by an advisor trying to read the polls. The only poll that matters is on Election Day. Like David and Goliath, you must fight the fight on your terms and with your weapons - trying to do so on Barack's terms and with his weapons will not work.

Senator McCain, I'm asking everyone reading this letter to pray for you and for Governor Palin. I'm asking for each of us to pray for God to give you the wisdom you need to win this election and to lead this country. We also need to pray for the voters to have the wisdom to make the best choices for all offices: local, state, and national, as we cast our votes in November. I'm asking that each of us pray these prayers everyday until this election is over.

Sincerely,
Fred Black

Please pass this to everyone you know, and please ask them to send it to everyone they know. We only have a few days until the next debate.

If you don't have a McCain / Palin sign in your yard and a McCain / Palin bumper sticker, find out where your local Republican Party office is and get one as soon as possible.

Like a football game, the clock is ticking and we're in the 4th quarter. I think Governor Palin made a great interception with her debate last night, and now Senator McCain needs all the support we can give him, to help him get the ball into the end zone before the clock runs out.
