John McCain has put his entire focus on the meetings in Washington D.C. dealing with the current financial crisis. He is performing his duties as a United States Senator and has suspended his campaign, his ads, and fundraising.
Barack Hussein Obama, who is also a United States Senator continues to campaign and run new ads... like this one...
"For eight years we've been told that the way to a stronger economy was to give huge tax breaks to corporations and the wealthiest. Cut oversight on Wall Street. And somehow all Americans would benefit, Well now we know the truth. Instead of prosperity tricking down, the pain has trickled up. We need to change direction. Now."
OK, can anyone in the class stand up and tell us what's wrong with this ad?
I can!
It's a LIE.
It's the same old crap and lies OBrainless, woops, I mean OEmptyness, woops, I mean Obama, and the Democrats have been pushing for years. It's a LIE. Obama should be ashamed to run this ad, playing off of a real, substantial crisis to try and get votes. There's no change here, nothing but OSameness.
The Facts!
- The Democrats under President Clinton relaxed the lending rules that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac operated under.
- In 2005, Alan Greenspan told the Senate Banking Committee that urgent action was needed to correct the problems that these very risky lending practices were causing or we would have the exact type of meltdown that we're experiencing now.
- John McCain, who was on the Senate Banking Committee at the time co-sponsored a bill to reform this mess.
- The Democrats tied it up in a party-line vote keeping it from ever seeing the light of day.
- Had that bill been enacted into law, we would not be in this mess.
This is detailed in my previous post: What Caused the Financial Melt Down and What Part Did Obama and McCain Play?
OEmptyness should be ashamed to run the ad and make such blatantly false misleading statements.
Until next time,
