Steven Spielberg and his wife, Kate Capshaw donated $100,000 to fight overturning of the court decision in California that legalizes same-sex marriage.
California Proposition 8, or the Marriage Protection Act, will be on the ballot in November and, if passed, will amend the California state constitution to limit marriage to a man and a woman.
Brad Pitt donated the same amount to the same cause last week.
What a huge waste.
I'm sure everything over there on the left coast is so fine and dandy that there is absolutely no need for anything more pressing. No charities in need of funds. No hungry children. No sick children. No abandoned children. No orphans waiting on adoption. No abused women or children. No homeless families. No drug or alcohol addiction services in need of anything. No energy research programs in need of funding. No animals in the animal shelters needing medical help or adoption... and the list goes on and on.
California must be in tip-top shape, like a pristine Norman Rockwell painting, if that's the most pressing need that these wacko celebrities can find to donate their money to.
Wake up people! Parts of California are like a seething, puss filled sore and Proposition 8 is one of the antibiotics that are desperately needed to save it. But these fruitcakes want to withhold healing saying it's discriminatory and violates their rights.
I don't understand how someone can start out sort of normal, and then after becoming famous and wealthy loose all touch with reality and any concept whatsoever of right vs. wrong, and the long term detrimental impact it has on society.
My opinion, and that's the one that I like, is that you can be gay if you want to, but marriage should be only between a man and a woman. I also think that children should be raised by a man and a woman, not a man and a man, or a woman and a woman.
What a huge waste of $200,000. Incredibly stupid.
Until next time,
