Clint Eastwood vs. Spike Lee

June 10, 2008

Clint Eastwood vs. Spike Lee
Some things you just don't mess with... mama, Iwo Jima, Clint Eastwood, Andy Griffith, the facts about history, John Wayne, and Jonny Cash.

Politically Correct and Clint Eastwood don't mesh. I'm glad. Thank God some things are stable and you can actually count on them.

Some people, like Spike Lee, like to throw stones and stir things up. He's also a Barack Hussein Obama supporter so you know I don't like him too much. Clint Eastwood recently directed two movies, Letters from Iwo Jima and Flags of Our Fathers. It seems that Spike prompted reporters to ask Clint why he didn't include any blacks in these two films about Iwo Jima. Mr. Eastwood responded by saying that he was being historically accurate because black soldiers did not help raise the flag at Iwo Jima, which is what the films are about. Mr. Eastwood also said about Spike "a guy like him should shut his face".

For telling it like it is and sticking to his guns, I'm giving Clint Eastwood a big Double Barreled Salute!

We know that there were black soldiers in WWII. They were segregated if I recall correctly. They made a big difference in the war. Their service, valor, and bravery earned them a place in history, as well as our respect. I'm sure that Mr. Eastwood would agree. But Spike Lee would have us rewrite history to show what he wants to see verses what actually happened.

Mr. Eastwood's next movie is about South African rugby and Nelson Mandela, titled: The Human Factor. Clint added in his comments "Yeah, I'm not going to make Nelson Mandela a white guy".

I guess Clint Eastwood is a "Typical White Person"! And Spike an Obama supporter: "just words... just speeches"! Well, what can I say?

In the aftershocks that followed, Spike Lee said Mr. Eastwood sounded like "an angry old man" and he predictably brought up slavery saying "we're not on a plantation". I really doubt Clint Eastwood owns or has owned any slaves, and yes, he has a right to be angry. Like me, he's tired of the political correctness crap and the "We Deserve Everything" mantra.

Way to go Clint! We're behind you 100 percent.

Sincerely,
Recoil

One of his favorite lines comes to mind: "A man's gotta know his limitations." Spike hasn't the faintest. Nor does Oblabla.

Speaking of irony, Clint is one of the world's top supporters and lovers of jazz. I wonder if Spike knows what that is ...
